Introduction
Conventional modular designs in autonomous vehicles often suffer from disjointed component coordination. Enter AV4EV, our avant-garde project focused on a one-third scale autonomous go-kart, built on Topkart USA's sturdy chassis. Bridging the divide between RC cars and full-scale vehicles, this platform fuses academic-friendly affordability with practical application potential.
The AV4EV design incorporates "mechatronics" across seven key subsystems, championing the modern "x-by-wire" trend. This transition from traditional mechanics to electronic controls enhances stability, adaptability, and efficiency. Powered by the STM32 Nucleo board and communicating via the Controller Area Network (CAN), our design melds seamlessly with the original chassis and promotes cross-platform compatibility through a software-defined vehicle approach.
In short, AV4EV isn't merely a go-kart; it's a leap forward in autonomous vehicle innovation.
