I'm proud to be part of the dynamic AutoDrive Challenge II competition, a collaborative initiative between GM and SAE International, which spans over four years. The essence of this challenge is to bring together students from multifaceted disciplines, encouraging us to collaboratively re-engineer a given vehicle - the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, generously donated by GM. The goal? To infuse this model with innovative solutions and transition it into a cutting-edge autonomous electric vehicle.
Throughout the competition, I had the privilege to immerse myself in the intricacies of contemporary vehicle technologies. This encompasses electric powertrain systems, state-of-the-art vision mechanisms propelled by neural networks, and sophisticated autonomous control systems, to name a few.
As a dedicated member of the Project Management team, my responsibilities are crucial to the coordination and smooth operation of the project. I collaborate closely with various departments to ensure meticulous project planning, precise scheduling, and rigorous verification of team deliverables. Specifically, during the Year 1 Project Leadership phase, I actively managed and oversaw:
1. The development of a comprehensive Gantt chart.
2. Crafting a detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
3. Strategizing the Team Structure & Succession Plan.
4. Formulating an effective Decision-Making Model.
5. Establishing a seamless Team Communication Plan.
It's been a profound learning experience, where I not only contributed to engineering advancements but also honed my project management skills, ensuring efficient teamwork and timely delivery.
